Syndesi Boosts Fan Engagement at College Baseball Game

Syndesi Boosts Fan Engagement and Collects Valuable Data at Baseball Game

Yesterday, the University of Texas baseball team played rival Oklahoma and Syndesi was on site to run an in-game promotion during the home game. The promotion offered 1-in-50 lucky fans the chance at winning a $50 gift certificate to the student book store.

Fans could participate by scanning a QR code and entering their personal information, including their name, email, gender, age, and preferences for future giveaways.

The software then immediately sorts and notifies winners, emailing the $50 gift card information to the winning scans without any manual support from the staff.

Thanks to Syndesi's user-friendly interface and engaging promotions, the promotion drove:

  • A 412% increase in website traffic

  • Over 30 signups

  • $312 in direct revenue

  • 17 man hours saved by the team

The 30+ participants provided their contact and demographic information and segmented themselves during the for submission by selecting “which area they’d be interesting in future giveaways:”

  • Tickets

  • Team events

  • Alumni / doner events

  • Merchandise

  • Family events

Valuable data during these promotions allows athletic departments personalize future promotions and communications, leading to better engagement and ultimately higher revenue. The data also helps deepen the understanding of your fans by rounding out the incomplete picture provided by ticket sales (eg., transfers & group purchases).

Syndesi's software not only streamlines the giveaway process, but it also enhances fan engagement by providing a fun and interactive experience for fans to participate in. This leads to better retention of fans and ultimately, increased revenue for the team.

Overall, the promotion was a success, and Syndesi looks forward to partnering with more sports teams in the future to further boost fan engagement and collect valuable data.
